Dr. Peters, a clinical neuropsychologist, began her career as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor working in both outpatient and residential chemical dependency treatment centers. With great respect for the multifaceted nature of substance use disorders, Dr. Peters sought further education to expand her knowledge and broaden the scope of her clinical practice to further her reach and refine her abilities in order to support others. She completed her Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2021 and further specialized in Neuropsychology through a 2-year fellowship, of which she completed in 2023. Dr. Peters has experience with neuropsychological, psychological, and therapeutic assessments as well as therapeutic services in a Veterans Affair health care system, outpatient and inpatient co-occurring treatment facilities, a group private practice, and a college counseling center. She provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment services specializing in adult and geriatric populations with a particular interest in neurodegenerative disorders. Having served in the field of psychology for over a decade, she has a long history of providing individual psychotherapy in a highly relational fashion, which is integrated into her approach for assessment in an effort to cultivate an atmosphere of curiosity and collaboration. The mutual end goal for assessment is most often to provide as much clarity and insight into an individual’s strengths, behaviors, condition, etc. with an emphasis on assisting people on how to best move forward with next steps based on their newfound understanding through a series of tailored treatment recommendations.
Outside of her professional role, Dr. Peters enjoys having as much time as possible nurturing her relationships with her 3 daughters and husband and being outdoors in any capacity!
